Care & Maintenance

Good mobility support depends on correct fit, regular checks, and gentle care. Use these guides to help keep your Animobilo product clean, comfortable, and ready for daily use.

Important note

Animobilo products are designed to provide supportive assistance for dogs with mobility needs. They are not a substitute for veterinary diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation advice, or professional fitting guidance.

If your dog has a recent injury, surgery, pain, skin irritation, pressure sores, weakness, neurological symptoms, or a change in mobility, consult your veterinarian before use and follow their advice.

Before first use

Before using your product for the first time:

  • Check that all straps, fasteners, buckles, screws, wheels, and adjustment points are secure.
  • Ensure the product is the correct size for your dog.
  • Adjust straps so the product is supportive but does not restrict breathing, circulation, or natural movement.
  • Introduce the product gradually in a calm, familiar space.
  • Supervise your dog during early use and stop if they appear distressed, unstable, or uncomfortable.

Daily check

Before each use, inspect:

  • Fabric for wear, stretching, tears, or loose stitching
  • Buckles, clips, Velcro, and straps for secure fastening
  • Metal frames for bends, cracks, sharp edges, or loose fittings
  • Wheels for smooth rotation and secure attachment
  • Padding and contact areas for moisture, debris, or damage
  • Your dog’s skin and coat for rubbing, redness, swelling, or irritation

*Stop using the product and contact us if you find damage that may affect safety or performance.

For wheelchair frames and hardware:

  • Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth after outdoor use.
  • Dry metal parts thoroughly after rain, mud, or cleaning.
  • Remove hair, mud, grass, and debris from wheels and moving parts.
  • Check wheel rotation regularly.
  • Tighten only the specified adjustment points; do not force or modify structural components.
  • Do not use damaged, bent, cracked, or unstable hardware.

Fit and comfort

A well-fitted mobility product should support movement without causing pressure, rubbing, dragging, or distress.

Check your dog during and after use. Look for:

  • Redness or marks that do not fade quickly
  • Chafing around the chest, belly, groin, or legs
  • Difficulty breathing or moving naturally
  • Reluctance, anxiety, limping, or signs of pain
  • Changes in posture or gait

If you notice any of these signs, stop use and contact your veterinarian or Animobilo Support for fit guidance.
